Jeanine van Maris van Dijk
Winter 2007/2008
Jeanine wanted to do a project within the scope of her photography studies at the art academy in The Hague. She had shown that she could tell stories through photographs in earlier projects, and wanted to call attention to things that are less clear, unsuspected or undesirable, in addition to what is patently obvious. As there was not an exorbitant amount of time for becoming familiar with the residents of the Willem Arntsz Hoeve, Jeanine limited herself to two wards. In her photographs, she uses the shadow of a resident to evoke an image. Like an archaeologist, the viewer can then seek its source.
