Kick off Summer School #3

How private is our mental health system in 2050? After the succesful Summer Schools of 2017 and 2018, the focus of this year is Privacy in Psychiatry. Our main target is the year 2050. Under supervision of coaches Dirk van Lieshout and Marieke Zwart, artists create utopic models and visionary ideas on privacy.

The Summer School hosts a series of public lectures

Tuesday 13 August 15.30-17.00 - Lecture by Floris Schönfeld, visual artist and resident of Het Vijfde Seizoen 2019, on Artificial Intelligence and neurodiversity. In the multi-layered project PUK* is explored how Artificial Intelligence interacts with neurodiversity. What are the implications for our privacy?

Wednesday 14 August 20.00-21.30 - Artist Ana Maria Gomez will focus on biomedical developments in relation to our body and privacy

Thursday 15 August 20.00-21.30 - Floortje Scheepers, Professor innovation and head of the psychiatry department, brain division UMCU elaborates on the future of psychiatry in  the context of digitization and privacy.

Monday 19 August 20.00-21.30 - Lecture by Annet Dekker, Assistant Media Studies UvA.

Next to a public programme, the Summer School includes a series of excursions and discussions with lecturers and guest speakers.

Unique in this edition of the Summer School is de collaboration with hands-on experts of the HVO Querido clinic. The works of the hands-on experts are displayed in the exhibition.

Privacy & Psychiatry in the Future is the third Summer School in a series on Art & Psychiatry and is organized by Het Vijfde Seizoen.
